Order of Service for the BCFG

Below is the Order of Service which I have been using for the worship service at Fern Gardens Community.  I will add more at a later time but wanted to get this out there as I like it a lot and would love to share it with many.  The "Why" will be forthcoming.  RV

Confession…It is a Good thing

I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault . In my thoughts and in my words, In what I have done, and in what I have failed to do.

May almighty God have mercy on us, Forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen

God is a Great God and knows our every need…He knows our weakness and yet still Loves us. Our Lord gave His life willingly for us. Forgiveness from sin and failure is available this very day. Jesus rose from the grave after giving His life for His creation. We are forgiven and free to live in a New way. Christ is born. Christ is risen!

Gloria (Lu 2:14) Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth. Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father. Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.



For you alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the Glory of God the Father. Amen

Readings Epistle (Phil 3:17);(Heb 12:2) Gospel (Lu13:31)

Nicene Creed-We believe in one God, the Father, The Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, One in Being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered died and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and Son He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen!

Eucharistic Liturgy…The Good news of Christ..

May the Lord accept the offering at my hands for the praise and glory of His Name, for our good, and the good of All His Church.

The Lord be with you! …Lift up Your Hearts!…Let us give thanks to the Lord our God!…It is right to give Him thanks and Praise!

Holy..Holy…Holy Lord..God of power and Might Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. H..H..in the Highest!

Whenever we are tempted to exault our own importance, to think of ourselves more highly than we ought; grant us a measure of your own humility, that we might be more anxious to serve than to be served, more ready to give than to want - Lord Jesus, fix our thoughts on you as we pray the prayer You taught us---

Our Father. + Deliver Us Lord from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy and grace keep us free from sin and protect us from ALL anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior Jesus the Christ! Lu 11:1 - May the peace of the Lord be with you always!

Words of institution (Mat26:26) And while they were eating…, Jesus took some bread, and after a blessing,He broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, Eat: This Is My Body.” And when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”

Proclamation…

This IS the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world…Happy are those who are called to His supper.

Received by Faith (Mt 8:5) LORD I am not worthy to receive you, But only say the word and I shall be healed!

Welcome to the table of the Lord! Served as we serve one another!
